StopBadware seeks a visionary executive director
Yesterday, StopBadware Executive Director Maxim Weinstein announced that he has decided to move on from StopBadware over the next couple of months. Maxim has been helping StopBadware grow since its infancy as a Berkman Center project, and he has helmed our organization since we spun off as a standalone nonprofit in January of 2010. With Maxim as our leader, StopBadware has accomplished much: we've helped protect millions of people from badware, published research and collaborative reports, and worked with industry to increase transparency and security for both companies and consumers. We've also grown our network of farsighted Partners and contacts from a few founding members to a long list of well-respected companies that are deeply committed to StopBadware's mission. This support network has been invaluable to StopBadware's growth over the past three years, and it will continue to be invaluable as we move on to the next phase of our development.
As of now, the StopBadware Board of Directors is seeking an experienced security industry leader to be StopBadware's next executive director. This is a challenging position that also offers big rewards, not the least of which is the opportunity to work with some incredible people: a talented staff, our renowned group of Partners, and an unparalleled board of directors, all of whom are dedicated to making the Web a safer place for all its users. From our inception at Harvard's Berkman Center, StopBadware has been led by security visionaries who seek innovative solutions and value collaboration and transparency. Our board is looking for someone who fits that ethos and has the business, technical, and communications skills to take StopBadware to the next stage of its evolution.
